Testing valves easier than ever
The Fluke 710 loop calibrator for valve testing is designed for quick and easy testing of control valves with HART technology. The 710's integrated test procedures and intuitive user interface allow users to test valves quickly and easily. In addition, the quick test results provide a clear diagnosis for quick maintenance decisions. Based on the results of the quick valve test, you know whether your valve is in good, marginal or poor condition, so you can quickly decide whether additional maintenance is required.
Valve testing and HART communication with a precision loop calibrator
The integrated HART communication function of the 710 loop calibrator for valve testing allows users to generate a 4-20 mA signal that controls the smart control valve. At the same time, the HART feedback signal is interpreted to determine whether the valve moves to the expected position. In addition to valve position information, the HART communication protocol can be used to determine the pressure delivered by the valve that moves the valve.
The 710 provides integrated test procedures that automatically increase and change the mA signal while monitoring HART feedback on the valve position and pressure. This gives you a better picture of the valve's condition at the simple touch of a button.
Preconfigured valve tests, concise answers
Valve testing functions integrated into the 710 include
- Manual testing; manual modification of the mA signal and information on the HART position and pressure variable
- Increase of the mA signal over the full range from 4 to 20 to 4 mA during registration of the 0-100-0% position or of the pressures that move the valve from 0-100-0%
- Step change of the mA signal at the input of the valve and evaluation of the response of the valve to changes in the mA input signal
- Velocity tests to determine how fast the valve can be opened and closed
- Impact and partial stroke tests that help test valves over part of their range so they can be tested during an actual process
ValveTrack software allows further analysis and trends to be created
Valve tests logged and stored in the 710's memory can be uploaded using the ValveTrack analysis software. The ValveTrack software provides you with the following capabilities
- Uploading, printing and plotting of logged on-site valve tests performed
- Comparison of previously uploaded tests with recent tests
- Display of valve test history via HART label ID
- Export valve test data to CSV for further analysis in Microsoft Excel
Save time, get answers
- On-site logging of HART data. After logging by the 710 on-site, the ValveTrack software can upload the HART configuration of up to 20 HART devices in your installation and output data in .csv or in .txt format.
- Logged mA loop measurements and HART data from a given transmitter can be logged for the purpose of troubleshooting and fine-tuning the loop. The data logging function has a selectable recording interval from 1 to 60 seconds and a logging capacity of 4910 records or 99 individual sessions. Each record contains the mA measurement and all four process variables.
